This video is from an event for Black History Month, featuring three speakers who are experts in the history of slavery and its connections to Scotland. Dr David Alston, Dr Karly Kehoe, and Dr Stephen Mullen each presented their research on various aspects of slavery. Dr Alston discussed the story of two enslaved Africans named Pompey and Archie, focusing on events in Barbados in 1814. He highlighted the importance of ethnic identities among the enslaved and their efforts to maintain their communities and culture. The event also allowed attendees to ask questions to the panel after all three speakers had presented.
